This is Tom's blog, and if you notice, he doesn't write but maybe every couple of months. I have gotten an email from him, but like you said, he's busy.

And as far as his comment about being famous, I don't know what his life is like, and I don't know what projects he's doing now (besides the Jesse Stone novels), but when you make a comment like that, it just seems that it rubs people the wrong way.

It's hard being famous because you must live up to what the public expects you to be. One false move and the whole world knows about it.

And of course the whole world knows your business too. Cameras are always in your face. People want to know what you eat, how you sleep and even what your shit looks like. And when the cameras aren't in your face, they're hiding everywhere. You can't even breathe without someone knowing. And if you breathe wrong? It will be all over the news.lol

And then there are those who get a little out of hand and try to stalk you. It's worse than everyone knowing your business. Someone starts out being a fan and when they find out where you live, etc. they take things further. And if you don't jump to their every beckoning call, they take matters into their own hands and don't stop to think who they might hurt.

Being famous isn't easy because it means you need to be a lot more alert. It's rare to be able to relax and just enjoy life without the media in your face or a stranger interrupting a personal moment in life.

Of course not all is bad when you're famous, but life isn't perfect either.
